Data of all tuberculosis patients are monitored and evaluated in the registry of tuberculosis. The registry of tuberculosis is merged with the Information system for bacillary tuberculosis. The Information system for bacillary tuberculosis is based on mandatory laboratory notification of all positive mycobacterial examinations. In 2020, 368 new cases or recurrences of tuberculosis (TB) of all forms and locations were reported in the Czech Republic. The relatively highest number of TB cases had residence in Capital of Prague and the least affected region was Olomoucky region. Seventy-six per cent of TB cases were confirmed bacteriologically. Two TB cases were reported in the age group 0-14 years. Thirty-four per cent of TB cases were diagnosed in patients born in countries other than the Czech Republic. There were 10 patients with multi-drug resistant TB. Twenty-four deaths from TB were reported to the tuberculosis register. The Czech Republic with the reported TB incidence rate of 3.4 cases per 100,000 population ranks among the countries with the lowest incidence of TB in Europe. ER
